Drosophila Embryo Injection Services

We provide high quality Drosophila transgenic service to both research institutions and companies. We offer you partial and full service ranging from DNA preparation, embryo microinjection to balancing crosses. Most importantly, the cost of our Drosophila embryo injection services is more reasonable compared to that of others. With a large number of facilities and the highly experienced staff, we are able to initiate the process immediately upon receiving your sample. Our friendly web-based database allows you to track your sample status, service history and more. See here for the sample page.

P-element Transformation

The Drosophila P-element transformation involves the injection of transposon-based construct with the white and/or the yellow marker to w1118 or yw host line. We perform injections with your (or our) purified plasmid construct (helper P-element plasmid will be supplied by us unless you prefer to use your own) and return you the injected lavae, or the stable lines or balanced lines depending on your chosen service. For details, please refer to the service page.

Cre/loxP Recombination-Mediated Cassette Exchange (Cre/loxP RMCE)

Cre/loxP RMCE is a newly developed method that finally achieves site-specific transgenesis in Drosophila. One of the systems is using Cre recombinase and lox sites to replace the traditional P-element system so that insertion of donor sequence is no longer random. Transgenic lines at known genomic location can be now created and their gene expression levels are comparable as well as without any position effect. The service is similar to the P-element transformation. We inject your donor plasmid to "landing site" lines. You can choose to inject into one or several lines and receive the injected larvae, or the stable lines or balanced lines depending on your chosen service. For details, please refer to the service and the RMCE information page.

PhiC31 integrase-mediated transgenesis systems - P[acman] and FlyC31

PhiC31 integrase-mediated transgenesis systems are based on the site-specific bacteriophage PhiC31 integrase which mediates sequence-directed, irreversible and highly efficient integration between a bacterial attachment site (attB) and a phage attachment site (attP). We will inject your purified attB construct into your selected PhiC31-containing attP docking site embryos and return you the injected larvae, the stable lines without the PhiC31 source or the balanced lines depending on your chosen service. For details, please refer to the service page and the PhiC31 information page.
